About

Focus and Scope

JMPhil is an open access philosophy journal that publishes papers on the history of philosophy from the 16th century to the turn of the 20th century. There is no word limit on submissions, although economy of expression is encouraged. We aim to review submissions fairly and quickly. Reviewing is double blind. All submissions that fit the scope of the journal and meet basic norms of scholarly publishing will be sent out for review, and we send submissions to two reviewers whenever possible. We aim for a time to decision of less than eight weeks for all papers. Accepted papers are published as soon as they are copyedited and typeset.

Publication Frequency

The journal is published online as a continuous volume and issue throughout the year. Articles are made available as soon as they are ready to ensure that there are no unnecessary delays in getting content publicly available.

Open Access Policy

JMPhil provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All articles will be published under Creative Commons licenses. See the Copyright and Licensing Policy for more information.
